When to Start a Baby Schedule
If you are going to try a baby schedule, I suggest you wait until your baby about a month old. Instead, all they want is to experience the sensations they’re used to from the womb. You might think there’s not much a 1-month-old can do… But you would be surprised!

Establish predictable feeding, play and sleep times is very important.
The top tips for successfully scheduling your baby’s day schedule. Once your baby is a month old, I suggest you do the following:
- Feed in a quiet room help not to get your baby overstimulated.
- Tune into sleep clues. The goal is to start your baby’s nap before they’re yawning and droopy-eyed. This is why using EASY BABY day schedule so you can have a proximately timeframe when to expect sleep clues.
- Use white noise machine, providing a safe and comfortable environment as they mimic the sounds of the womb
- Monitor naps. If your baby naps for over two hours, wake them up for their next play/feed period. (Long naps cause less daytime eating and more hunger at night, and also creating overtirednes and overstimulated baby.)
- Don’t rush to respond to every noise.
- Dim the lights. Exposure to bright light in the hour or so before night-night makes falling asleep more difficult.
- Offer a warm bath. A baby’s body temperature drops a few degrees post-bath, which signals the body that it’s time for night-night.
- Give a loving massage for your baby can improve the quality of baby sleep. I like to use warm massage oil, too, like coconut, grapeseed. Warm the oil by leaving it at room temperature and rubbing your hands together.
- Swaddle your baby. Because some babies prefer to be swaddled before or after feeding so which works best for you! Either way, swaddling is an important and give safe sleep for babies.
- Play a soft lullaby music for playtime because when babies listened to lullabies, they became more relaxed than when they listened to other music and helps not overstimulate your baby playtime. While lullabies should not replace white noise, they are a great addition to a calming playtime and bedtime routine.
- Keep your baby’s day schedule flexible. The key word is flexible. If you’re planning a 11:00am nap, but your little one is exhausted at 10-15minutes earlier then shcedule it’s fine to bend the “rules” , so just put them down little bit earlier than schedule. Also if your baby gets hungry before their “scheduled” feeding time (10-15 minutes earlier) but before that try distracting them ( use crib mobil, because wouldnt overstimulate your baby) but respond with promptness and love if the fussing persiststry to stick with the schedule. If this not working feed baby earlier and try to return to he schedule later, please don’t overstimulate your baby at this time.
- All About the “Eat, Play, Sleep” Baby Schedule. As an experts advise an “eat, play, sleep” baby schedule. The idea here is, when your little one wakes up from a nap or night sleep, you feed them, play with them…then when the time comes, put them down for sleep again. You continue with this pattern throughout the day.
Remember that it may take some time for your baby to adjust to a new schedule, so be patient and consistent as you work to establish a routine.
